Police in Salima have arrested three men for allegedly possessing fourteen 200-litre barrels of petrol.
Police spokesperson Rabecca Ndiwate confirmed the arrest, saying the three men were identified as Fatsan Phiri, Madalitso Dzindiwo and Amidu Sipolo and were arrested in Sengabay on Sunday after police were ambushed by well-wishers.

They said the suspects confessed to the crime and when asked for the documents required to possess the goods, they failed to do so, prompting the police to arrest them.
All the suspects hail from the Maganga chiefdom in Dalankwanda village in the same state and are expected to appear in court soon to answer their charges.
