Mwaimva? A police officer in Kasungu, Patrick Makwale, has been found with a case to answer after allegedly shooting an unarmed man in both legs 2 years down the line.

When the case resumed today for determination , the court heard that the shooting of the victim, identified as Precious Goliat Gowani, was reportedly happened when he cooking nsima behind a local bar in the district with friends on August 20, 2023, and Makwale allegedly approached and threatened the group with a rifle.

The state also submitted to the court that as they (Victims) attempted to run, Makwale opened fire, striking Gowani in both legs.

The case came to resurrect following recommendations from an investigation report conducted by Indipendent Complaints Commission submitted to the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Meanwhile ,Makwale is expected to enter his defence when the court will resume proceedings on 12 August .
