Amayiwa, malinga ndi mneneri wa polisi a Hastings Chigalu ndi a Chimwemwe Chembe a zaka 39, a Elizabeth Mkwezalamba a zaka 36 komanso a Memory Elias a zaka 46.

A Chigalu ati, woganiziridwa m’modzi (Chimwemwe) amakhala mnyumba yomwe mwini wake anapita ku Blantyre kukagwira ntchito zina ndipo mwini nyumbayo anatsekera katundu wina ofunika kuchipinda china mnyumbamo.

“Mayi Chimwemwe anauza mzawo Elizabeth kuti abe microwave inatsekeredwa kuchipindako mu njira yoonetsa kuti kunyumbako kunathyoledwa ndi okuba. Koma a Chimwemwe ngakhale anafikira a Elizabeth ndi nkhaniyi, anathyola chipindacho okha ndikubamo microwave-yo yomwe anakagulitsa K30,000,” atero a Chigalu.

Malinga ndi a Chigalu, a Elizabeth ataona kuti Chimwemwe wapindula yekha, anafikira mzawo Memory yemwe anagwirizana kuti akathyole kunyumbako ndikubamo katundu wina ofunikira ndipo kuti katunduyo akasungidwe kwa mayi Memory chifukwa a Elizabeth ankati mamuna wawo sangalore kusunga katundu okuba.

“Kenako mayi Memory anapeza anyamata atatu kuphatikizapo mwana wawo kuti akathandizire kubako ndipo anatengana kupita kunyumbako kuti anyamatawo akaone bwinobwino katundu ofunika kuti abedwe. Pa nthawiyo Chimwemwe sanali kunyumbako. Ndipo pa ulendo wawo wokaba usiku katunduyo anabedwa,” atero a Chigalu.

Police in Area 36 in Lilongwe have arrested three women on suspicion of stealing various household goods including two refrigerators, a mattress, a microwave; and hiring three other criminals to help them commit the theft.
According to Lilongwe police spokesperson Hastings Chigalu, the women are Chimwemwe Chembe, 39, Elizabeth Mkwezalamba, 36, and Memory Elias, 46. He said one of the suspects, Chimwemwe Chembe, lives in a house where the owner left to work in Blantyre, but he hid some of his belongings in one of the rooms.

The suspect, Chembe, allegedly told the second suspect, Elizabeth Mkwezalamba, about the items, informing her of the plan to steal a microwave from a locked room. He said that Chembe, however, stole the microwave and sold it for 30,000 kwacha.
But the second suspect, in turn, asked his friend, the third suspect, Memory Elias, to help him find people to break into the house where the goods were, and to help him hide the goods, as his husbands would not allow him to keep stolen goods.
Mr. Elias found three men, including his son. And, that night, the thieves he had hired broke into the house, stealing the goods. The police arrested the three women after they were caught, while all three men are still at large.
